About the London Drink Debate

The London Drink Debate, part of the Mayor’s Health Inequaltities Startegy aims to start a regional dialogue with Londoners in order to fully understand the role of alcohol in in the capital. It builds on an existing body of evidence that the Regional Public Health Group London has developed.

A number community engagement events have been held across London that begun to identify some of the concerns and views that Londoners have reagrding alcohol. These findings have been captured in two reports, which we believe provides a foundation for a more robust debate across London.

In order to provide a solid base from which conclusions can be drawn, the themes and insights that have been uncovered so far need to be taken to a wider audience for comment. We are in the process of conducting a London wide survey and ask you to take the time to tell us what you think by.

The London Drink Debate will identify and inform the development of a series of actions that aim to reduce health inequalities through a coordinated effort by partnerships across London.
